What will your Personal Training Sessions Include?
First Session
Your initial sessions could include:
- Health & Lifestyle Consultation
- Goal Discussion and Setting
- Health & Fitness Measurements
- Postural Analysis
The health and lifestyle consultation will enable me to gain a good understanding of your present health and fitness status, what activities you have done in the past, what you enjoy and what your aspirations are.
From this discussion we can agree and set realistic goals. These would Include specific targets and time scales. We will track your goals towards success based on a number of health and fitness measurements, specific to you. These could include a selection from the following:
- Weight
- BMI
- Blood Pressure
- Body Fat %
- Skeletal Muscle %
- Visceral Fat
- Resting calories required per day
- Cardio Vascular Tests
- Falls Risk Assessment
- Strength Tests
- General Fitness Tests
A postural assessment will be carried out and corrective exercises will then be included in your program. Improving your posture will allow you to train more effectively, achieving results quicker. Postural correction will make day-to-day living easier, with less pain and risk of injury.
Subsequent Sessions
Programs will be designed for subsequent sessions based on your specific needs; postural, current fitness level and specific goals.
Common goals include:
- Increase in General Fitness
- Weight Loss
- Improved Body Composition
- Improved Cardio Vascular Health
- Reduce Risk of Falling
- Building Confidence to Attend Fitness Classes
- Increased Strength
- Increased Day-to-Day Independence
Your exercises sessions would include stability, flexibility, strength and power training, in varying degrees based on your needs.
Training will be functional and improve your fitness for sport or daily living.
Your programs would be periodised, adapted as your body adapts to the exercises. This will ensure your continual performance improvement, allowing you to achieve your goals faster. It also keeps the sessions fun and interesting.
Postural findings, from your initial consultation, will enable me to integrate postural correction exercise and stretching into your program. This will encourage optimum movement patterns and help to prevent injury, enabling continuous and more effective training.
A variety of different equipment will be used to keep your training fun and interesting.
